South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS) Bursary

ABOUT THE COMPANY – SASAS

The South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS), formerly known as the South African Society of Animal Production (SASAP), was established in 1961. It serves as a platform for animal scientists from various agricultural industries, including researchers, trainers, and individuals interested in the different aspects of animal sciences and the livestock industry.

SASAS invites suitably qualified individuals, both locally and internationally, to become members of the society.

ABOUT THE SASAS BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

SASAS is offering bursary funding for postgraduate students for the academic year. The bursaries are awarded for studies towards an Honours or Masters degree in Animal Science or Animal Production.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SASAS BURSARY

To be considered for the SASAS bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Applicants may be of any nationality.
  • Must have completed a BSc (Agric.) qualification in Animal Science or Animal Production.
  • Must have graduated from a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
  • Must be a member of the South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS).
  • Must be registered for an Honours or Masters degree in Animal Science or Animal Production.
  • Must be studying at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
  • Must have an exceptional academic record (cum laude).
  • Must complete the Honours degree within 2 years and the Masters degree within 4 years.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SASAS BURSARY

Applicants must download and complete the SASAS Bursary Application Form for .

The following supporting documents must be submitted along with the application form:

  • Graduation certificate for the completed degree (certified copy)
  • Official statement of subjects and symbols completed (undergraduate and postgraduate, if applicable) (certified copy)
  • Recommendation by the study leader

Completed applications should be submitted via email to secretary@sasas.co.za. The subject line of the email should state “SASAS Bursary Application .”

CLOSING DATE FOR THE SASAS BURSARY

The closing date for applications is 31 March . It is important to submit your application before this date to be considered.
