South African Veterinary Foundation Bursaries 2024-2025
The South African Veterinary Foundation (SAVF) is a non-profit foundation established in 1984 to raise funds for veterinary research and promote a better understanding of animals. The foundation supports various projects and initiatives that contribute to improved animal welfare and veterinary education.
Bursary Details:
The SAVF offers bursaries to 4th and 5th-year veterinary students pursuing a BVSc (Veterinary Science) qualification at the University of Pretoria. These bursaries aim to provide financial assistance to students who are committed to their studies and show potential for contributing positively to the field of veterinary science.
Bursary Benefits:
- The bursaries provide financial assistance to cover a portion of the educational costs for veterinary science studies.
- There are two bursaries available annually, each with an amount of R10,000.
- Two of the bursaries are in association with Lakato Veterinary Wholesalers.
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility:
To be eligible for the SAVF Bursaries, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Proven financial need.
- Currently studying at the University of Pretoria.
- Enrolled in BVSc IV or BVSc V and in need of financial assistance.
- Minimum average examination marks of 60%.
- Participation in student activities such as sports, cultural activities, or other aspects of student life.
Application Process:
To apply for the SAVF Bursaries, follow these steps:
- Complete the SAVF Online Application Form.
- Complete the 10 multiple-choice questionnaires on the SAVF website.
- Upload the following documents:
- Proof of current student debt in PDF format.
- Certified copy of your academic record in PDF format.
- Brief Curriculum Vitae (CV) uploaded on the SAVF web form.
Closing Date:
The application deadline for the South African Veterinary Foundation Bursaries 2024-2025 is 15 June 2024-2025.
