Taylors Halt Quarry Bursary 2025-2026:

Applications are now open for the Taylors Halt Quarry bursary programme for the academic year 2025-2026. This bursary is intended for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the mining or quarrying industry and is available for fields of study including:

  • Surface Blasting
  • Environmental Studies
  • Occupational Health
  • Mining Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mining Surveying

Please note that shortlisted candidates will be informed before December 2. If you do not receive a notification by that date, consider your application as unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the Taylors Halt Quarry Bursary:

  • Must be a resident of South Africa (born in South Africa).
  • Must have completed Matric (Grade 12).
  • Must be enrolled in or planning to pursue education in one of the specified fields of study.
  • Must be enrolled in a recognized and approved tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • Must have a genuine interest in a career in the mining or quarrying industry.
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing fields with in-demand skills.

How to Apply:

To apply for the Taylors Halt Quarry Bursary, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Taylors-Halt-Quarry-Bursary-Application-forms-final.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. Submit the completed application form and required documents via email to compliance@midmargroup.co.za.

Note: The subject line of the email should contain the words “Taylor’s Halt Quarry Bursary Application.”

Documents Required:

Applicants must include the following documents along with their application form:

  • Certified copy of a valid ID document (not older than three months).
  • Certified copy of final Matric results and trial exam results.
  • Final report for 2021 (if still studying) – certified copy.
  • Evidence of enrollment or acceptance at a reputable institution with accreditation (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Proof of residential address.
  • Handwritten letter of motivation in support of your application.
  • Two references: one from your present professor (if still studying) and one from your school.
  • Proof of parents’ or guardians’ income (certified copy of payslips for employed parents, financial statements for self-employed parents, written affidavit for unemployed parents, certified copy of death certificates if applicable, certified copy of divorce certificate and maintenance order if parents are divorced or separated).
  • Written permission from parents or legal guardians for minor students under 18 to apply for the scholarship.

Closing Date:

The application deadline for the Taylors Halt Quarry Bursary is November 21. Applications must be submitted before the deadline to be considered.
