Admission Criteria:
Eligibility: Must have a Baccalaureus Technologiae: Nursing, Professional Bachelor’s degree, Honours degree in Nursing, or a Postgraduate diploma in Nursing, recognised by the South African Nursing Council.
Research Methodology: Candidates lacking Advanced Research Methodology at NQF Level 8 must complete it concurrently.
International Qualifications: Applicants with non-South African qualifications must apply six months in advance for recognition. SAQA evaluation required.
English Proficiency: May be required for some candidates.
Selection and Registration:
Selection Process: Involves a personal interview with the departmental panel.
Registration: Provisional until research proposal approval.
Program Duration and Structure:
Duration: Minimum one year, maximum three years. Annual re-registration required.
Intake: January only.
Focus: Research-based with a dissertation.
Dissertation Requirements: Includes a manuscript ready for submission to a peer-reviewed journal and a colloquium presentation.
