Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria
The program welcomes students with various educational backgrounds, depending on when they obtained their senior certificates.
For Applicants Who Obtained a Senior Certificate Before 2008:
- Minimum requirement: Senior Certificate or equivalent with a D symbol at Standard Grade or an E symbol at Higher Grade for English, Mathematics, and Physical Science.
- Alternatively, an N3 Certificate with two languages (including English) and a pass mark of 50% for Mathematics N3 and Engineering Science N3 may be considered.
- Recommended subjects: Biology and Geography.
- Selection criteria: Minimum requirements contribute 80% to the admission score, while an academic proficiency test makes up the remaining 20%.
For Applicants Who Obtained a National Senior Certificate in or After 2008:
- Minimum requirement: National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree or a diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification, with an achievement level of at least 4 for English (home language or first additional language), 4 for Mathematics, and 4 for Physical Sciences.
- Recommended subjects: Geography and Life Sciences.
- Selection criteria: An Admission Point Score (APS) of at least 21 is required. Applicants with a score of 24 and above are directly considered for admission. Those with scores between 21 and 23 will be invited to write an academic proficiency test, with APS contributing 80% to the final admission score and the test accounting for the remaining 20%.
