Purpose
Objective: To develop competencies in environmental management enforcement, compliance inspections, investigation of non-compliance, and practical application of legal principles in environmental compliance and enforcement, with a focus on Environmental Law.

Government Officials and members of the Regulated Community.
Admission Requirements
A Senior Certificate or an equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
Compulsory access to the internet and registration as a myUnisa user.
Duration
Six months.

First Semester: 28 November – 25 January.
Second Semester: Aligned with Unisa’s second semester registration dates.

Course Content: Environmental Law and Liabilities for the Regulated Community (ENVRC1A)
Topics include Introduction to Compliance and Enforcement, Criminal Enforcement, Administrative Justice in Administrative Enforcement, Civil Enforcement, Specific Enforcement Provisions under NEMA and SEMAs, Enforcement Provisions under other Environmental Legislation, Conducting Inspections and Investigations, Enforcement Action, Ethics, Health and Safety, and a Practical Court Case based on operation (2 Days).
