Amazon is one of the world’s biggest retail companies, but it’s also one of the few major retailers that has yet to fully set up shop in South Africa. That’s about to change, however, as news has just broken that Amazon will be opening in South Africa soon, likely within the next 12 months.
No official date set
Amazon has yet to announce anything official, but we do know that the company is looking into opening a second headquarters outside of Seattle. It’s possible that this new HQ2 will be opened outside of the US, which would give them access to more international shipping options. That being said, the company is still deciding on where to base its HQ2. If they end up opening it in a country like Canada or Mexico, then it might not be too long before they open shop elsewhere as well.
Yes, they have a location
Amazon is coming to South Africa. It was announced on Tuesday, November 13th, 2017 that they would be opening a new office near Cape Town with an intent to open in the country. This is exciting news for many. Considering the number of online shopping people do these days, this will make it easier for them to get their favourite items delivered right to their doorstep!
How to sell on Amazon
The next thing you’ll need to do is set up a seller account. If you’re opening a business, you’ll need to create a professional selling account. You’ll be able to use your credit card and bank information from the US or Canada. You’ll also need an address and phone number in either the US or Canada as well as an EIN (Employer Identification Number).
