Johannesburg
One of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Johannesburg is Sandton, which has a reputation for being home to millionaires, billionaires, and other high-profile personalities. Its high property prices have led it to be nicknamed the Beverly Hills of Johannesburg.
Cape Town
One of Cape Town’s most expensive areas is Constantia (near Rondebosch), where you’ll find sprawling mansions on large plots and quaint homes tucked away on quiet tree-lined streets. While a majority of the properties are privately owned, there are also some luxurious apartments for rent. The area offers great schools and an easy commute into the city, making it a desirable place for expats or those looking for an upscale lifestyle. Prices range from about $2 million for a home with four bedrooms to more than $6 million for villas with eight bedrooms, multiple living rooms, pools, guest houses and staff quarters.
Pretoria
There are also many high-end neighbourhoods where locals who have made their wealth can live without being bothered by outsiders. One such neighbourhood is Nieuw Muckleneuk, which is an upper-class neighbourhood that was developed at the turn of the century. It is one of the most expensive suburbs of Pretoria, with a home price averaging at about $2 million.
Durban
1) Umhlanga – This beachfront property is an upmarket area with many businesses headquartered there. It has great views at affordable prices.
2) Ballito Bay—One of the most exclusive areas with a strong reputation for its golf course, tennis courts, and beaches. Ballito Bay’s bay side location offers some of the best-golfing facilities on the east coast of Southern Africa.
