Kenilworth is bordered by southern Wynberg but is also co-joined with northern Claremont. The Kenilworth railway station is on the main line to Cape Town and Simon’s Town.
The main road runs through Kenilworth, the suburb is accessible from the M5 freeway.
The Kenilworth Racecourse is a large part of the suburban economy, not only drawing in large crowds during Sunday Morning and Smaller crowds during less common races.
But it is also the site of a commercial park that hosts many businesses including the headquarters of Pick ‘n Pay. Access Park, a large franchise outlet shopping complex, is also in the suburb.
The area along Main Road is an important commercial centre for shopping and bicycle repair. The healthcare sector has a large presence in the area with various private practices and drug rehab facilities.
