Demographics

It is one of the more well-known towns in this region of the Free State perhaps because it is an excellent spot to stay if you want to do some exploring as well as for growing dairy, cattle, sheep, maize, wheat, and other crops.

Visitor Attractions

The nomadic San people found refuge in this region of the world between the Caledon and Orange Rivers, which is not difficult to understand. What was once a wasteland is now a curiously lovely region of the nation where people instantly feel at home. You may unwind from the strains of modern life here with ease. Zastron’s location on the Highland Route, which parallels the Lesotho border through the Maluti Mountains’ foothills, is advantageous.

Head out to the Hippopotamus Cave in particular, as it has amazing drawings, especially of hippos, and that the area is filled with caves filled with fine examples of San rock paintings. The route begins in the mountains and ends at Zastron.

Visit Glen Rosa Farm as well, where one of the most significant historical artworks in the world, a 5-meter-high San frieze, dominates a cave.
