University of South Africa UNISA Student Card
A Unisa student card vs a Unisa access card
Unisa student card
All registered Unisa students will receive a paper student card as part of their first study pack for the academic year. Your student card confirms that you are a Unisa student and (accompanied by your ID or passport) grants you access to Unisa examinations, and so on.
If you lose your student card, you can request another one by sending an e-mail to despatch@unisa.ac.za
Unisa access card
A Unisa access card is NOT compulsory. You only need a Unisa access card if you want to access the Unisa Library.
You do NOT need a Unisa access card to register on myUnisa or to claim your myLife e-mail account. Click here for more information on how to claim your myUnisa and myLife e-mail accounts.
What is the process should you want to apply for a Unisa access card at the Muckleneuk or Science Campuses?
The card issuing stations at the Muckleneuk and Sciences Campuses can only issue a limited number of cards per day. You will, therefore, be issued with a number when you arrive at the office. The queue will be limited to a specific number of students per day. If you do not receive a number when you arrive at the office, you will have to return the following day for assistance.
