- Reside within KwaDukuza area of jurisdiction
- Hold a Matric completion
- Have a university entrance or endorsement in Matric
- Intend on studying full-time, towards an undergraduate National Diploma or Degree in the relevant fields
- Be enrolled or plan to study at a recognized public tertiary institution in South Africa
- Not be in receipt of any other bursary funding or NSFAS funding
- Not have completed any other qualification
- Possess a strong academic record
