About the Company – Grandslots:
Grandslots, owned by Sun International, is the leading Limited Payout Machines (LPM) operator in the Western Cape, with over 180 licensed venues in the province. The company has played a role in the upliftment and expansion of the communities in which they operate.
Grandslots operates under Sun Slots, a division of Sun International, which owns and operates six LPM route operators in South Africa. Apart from Grandslots in the Western Cape, Sun Slots also owns KZN Slots and Kingdomslots in KwaZulu-Natal, Grand Gaming Slots and Hot Slots in Gauteng, and Grand Gaming Slots in Mpumalanga.
About the Grandslots Bursary Program – Fields Covered:
Grandslots invites self-motivated and ambitious students who are residents of the Western Cape to apply for their bursary program. Bursaries are available for Undergraduate Diploma or Degree studies in the following fields:
- Business Administration
- Finance
- Marketing
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
More About the Grandslots Bursary Program – Coverage Value:
The Grandslots bursary will cover the following expenses:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Exam fees
- Books
- Equipment if required for the field of study
- Student accommodation
- Meals
- Transport
Bursaries will be awarded for one year of academic study at a time, but students are encouraged to reapply for funding each year.
Eligibility Requirements for the Grandslots Bursary:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria before applying. Failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in the application not being considered:
- South African citizenship
- Residence within the Western Cape province
- Belonging to a Designated group (including Black people, women, and those with disabilities)
- Aged between 18 and 25 years old
- Studying full time toward an Undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields (Diploma or Degree)
- In the 1st year or subsequent years of study (funding only available from the 2nd year onward)
- Studying at an approved educational institution
- Not receiving any other bursary funding, including partial bursaries or government funding
- Total combined family income of no more than R800,000 per annum

Eligible students should send an email to request a copy of the application form to owildschutt@grandslots.co.za. In the email subject line, please include “Grandslots Bursary Application Request.”
You will receive a copy of the Grandslots Bursary Application Form and Bursary Policy.
You may be required to submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form. Ensure you include all required documents; missing items may result in your application being disregarded:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Full academic record showing completion of the 1st year of study (certified copy)
- Proof of parents/guardians’ household income (payslip if employed, sworn affidavit if unemployed)
- Proof of residence within the Western Cape
