About Allan Gray Orbis Foundation
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation was established in 2005 to contribute to Southern Africa by fostering responsible entrepreneurship. The foundation operates in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Swaziland. It supports individuals through its Fellowship program, nurturing their entrepreneurship skills and providing financial assistance for their tertiary education.
Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship 2025-2026
The Fellowship program aims to nurture entrepreneurial skills and support students in their tertiary education. The foundation offers 100 fellowships to deserving South African students in fields like Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts, and Health Science (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry).
Fellowship Benefits:
- Covers university tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and tutor allowances
- Provides a monthly living allowance
- Offers academic support and access to an entrepreneurial and personal development program
- Provides mentorship and potential postgraduate funding for graduated Candidate Fellows
Eligibility Criteria:
For Grade 12:
- South African citizen
- Minimum 60% in Pure Mathematics or minimum 80% in Mathematical Literacy for final Grade 11 results
- Minimum average of 70% for final Grade 11 results (excluding Life Orientation)
- Below 21 years old in the application year
- Intention to study at partnered universities
- Pursuing studies in Commerce, Health Science (excluding Veterinary Science and Dentistry), Engineering, Law, or Humanities
For 1st Year University:
- South African citizen
- Minimum average of 65% for 2021 mid-year exam
- Studying at partnered universities
- Pursuing studies in Commerce, Science (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry), Humanities, Engineering, or Law
- Below 22 years old in the application year
