About Assmang Khumani Mine

Khumani Mine, located in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, is a significant iron ore mining operation and one of the country’s major iron ore reserves. It is an open-cast mine and serves as Assmang’s primary iron ore producer, having replaced the older Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine. Originally known as the Bruce, King, and Mokaning (“BKM”) Project, the mine derives its name from the farms where the iron ore resources were found.
