About Concor
Concor, formerly known as Murray & Roberts Construction, traces its roots back to 1902 when it was established in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Following the acquisition of Murray & Roberts Construction and Public Investment Corporation (PIC), the company underwent rebranding and became Concor.
Today, Concor stands as one of the prominent black-owned infrastructure and building service companies in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa’s construction sector. Concor consists of seven business units: Concor Buildings, Concor Developments, Concor Power, Concor Plant, Concor Infrastructure, Concor Opencast Mining, and Concor Western Cape.
The company boasts over 3,400 employees and operates primarily in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. Concor Construction has been a pivotal part of numerous large-scale projects in the country, including the Huguenot Tunnel, Hugo’s River Viaduct, Bloukrans Bridge, Ingula power station reservoir, Menlyn Shopping Centre, Carlton Centre, Melrose Arch, and the Absa Towers.
About the Concor Bursary Program
Concor is extending an invitation to students to apply for its bursary program for the 2025-2026 academic year. The bursaries are available for undergraduate studies (Degrees or National Diplomas) in the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
Concor’s bursary program aligns with the company’s future skills needs and available budget. Since its inception in 2011, the program has supported over 90 students who have completed their studies and subsequently joined Concor.
Bursary Coverage and Selection Process
The Concor bursary covers full tuition fees. Bursary recipients may also have the opportunity to participate in practical on-site training, exposing them to the complexities of infrastructure development.
Bursary recipients will be required to join Concor’s Intern Development Program in February 2025 for a 24-month period.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the Concor Bursary:
- South African citizenship
- Under the age of 30 years
- Full-time undergraduate student pursuing a qualifying field
- Studying at a recognized and accredited South African university or university of technology
- Successful completion of all previous years of study
- Entering the final year of study in 2025-2026
- Not currently receiving any other bursary funding

- Full tertiary academic record, including the most recent results/transcripts (on institutional letterhead)
- Proof of registration at a university or university of technology for the 2025-2026 academic year
Closing Date
The closing date for Concor Bursary applications is 31 October. Ensure your application is submitted before this date as late submissions will not be accepted.
