About the FirstRand Foundation Trust:

The FirstRand Foundation was established in 1998 as a means for FirstRand Limited, along with its major franchises (FNB, RMB, and WesBank), to direct their corporate social investment. Since its inception, the Foundation has received 1% of FirstRand Limited’s net profit after tax (NPAT).

About the FirstRand Foundation Trust Bursary Program:

The FirstRand Foundation Trust is offering undergraduate bursaries for the 2025-2026 academic year, focusing on critical skills programs. The bursaries are available for undergraduate degree studies in various fields, including Commerce, Engineering, Science, and Technology. The program also includes opportunities such as vacation work, hackathons, mentoring, and more.

The bursaries cover a wide range of fields of study, including but not limited to:

Commerce: Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, Law, Risk Engineering: All specializations/disciplines Science: Actuarial Science, Agricultural Science, Bioscience, Climate Science, Data Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, and others Technology: Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Systems, and more. Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the FirstRand Foundation Trust Bursary, applicants must meet specific criteria, including:

South African citizenship Black (African, Coloured, Indian, Asian) ethnicity Age not exceeding 21 years in the first year of study Completion of Matric within the last three years Minimum level 5 for Mathematics in Matric Strong academic record Intention to study full-time toward an undergraduate degree in the specified fields Provisional admission to a South African public university for 2025-2026 Belonging to the “missing middle” group, with a combined gross family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per annum. Application Process:

Applications must be submitted online through the FirstRand Foundation Trust Bursary Application for 2025-2026. Be sure to include “Uni24.co.za” when indicating how you heard about the bursary.

Required supporting documents include a clear photograph, South African ID document, academic records, proof of household income, and other relevant documents.

Closing Date:

The closing date for the FirstRand Foundation Trust Bursary application is 30 September 2025-2026. Late applications will not be considered.
