IITPSA (Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa) Bursary:
The Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) is a leading professional body for Information and Communication Technology professionals and practitioners in South Africa. Established for over 60 years, it is recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
IITPSA Bursary 2025-2026:
IITPSA is offering bursaries to undergraduate students pursuing three-year degrees in the following fields:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Applied Computing.
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Information Systems or Informatics.
The aim of the IITPSA bursary is to provide financial support to high-achieving and talented South African students pursuing ICT-related studies, contributing to the country’s economic growth.
Bursary Coverage:
The bursary covers all expenses, including exam fees, registration fees, textbooks, tuition fees, and university accommodation. It funds one academic year at a time, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the IITPSA bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship.
- Full-time registration in a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, or Information System.
- Minimum achievement of 65% in the latest examination.
- Enrollment at a recognized and accredited South African university meeting the course’s eligibility criteria.
- Preference given to applicants who have excelled in and completed The Computer Programming Olympiad, a project of IITPSA.

Applicants must submit certified copies of the following supporting documents:
- South African ID document.
- Proof of South African citizenship (proof of address).
- Matric certificate.
- Complete academic records or transcripts.
- Proof of income of parents or guardians (latest financial statements if self-employed, letter from employer or latest pay slips if employed, or an affidavit if unemployed).
- In the case of deceased parents or guardians, submit death certificates.
- In case of divorce between parents or separation, submit divorce papers or a sworn statement, respectively.
- An essay explaining personal background, family circumstances, achievements, leadership roles, strengths and weaknesses, reasons for choosing the specific study program, talents, interests, career aspirations, and a personal statement to highlight the application profile.
