Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships
The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer a unique opportunity for students to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. These scholarships aim to support students committed to creating positive change in their communities. Scholars will have the chance to experience a new country and culture, broaden their horizons, and build a lasting global network.
Benefits of the Scholarship
- Fully-funded tuition fees
- Living allowance (stipend) for the duration of the award
- Return economy flights to the host country
- One-off arrival allowance
- Research Support Grant (on request only; subject to approval)
Application Cycles
There are two application cycles each year:
- Cycle 1: Opens in November/December
- Cycle 2: Opens in March/April
Application Process
- Review Available Scholarships: Look through the list of countries and universities hosting scholarships in the current cycle.
- Course Information: Visit the relevant university websites for more information on your chosen courses.
- Submit QECS Application: Complete and submit a QECS application for your chosen university/course by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button on the QECS website. If you don’t have a myACU account, click ‘get started’ to create one and start your application.
- University Admission Application: Submit a separate application to your chosen university for admission to your selected course.

- Applicants should be interested in experiencing a new country and culture, and in building a global network.
