ABOUT THE COMPANY – SANRAL

The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) is responsible for financing, maintaining, managing, and developing the road network in South Africa. SANRAL is owned by the South African government and operates under the authority of the Minister of Transport. ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

SANRAL offers bursaries to students interested in pursuing a career in the Civil Engineering industry. The bursaries are awarded to students studying Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc/postgraduate) degrees. The bursary covers various study expenses, including tuition fees, registration fees, prescribed books, study equipment, compulsory seminars and excursions, accommodation, food, and a living allowance.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the SANRAL bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizen
  • Studying or intending to study towards a Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc/postgraduate) degree qualification
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll at a recognized South African university
  • Preferably completed the first year of study or registered for the second/third/fourth year/postgraduate
  • First-year students must provide strong motivation
  • Matric students must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for Mathematics, Physical Science, and English and be registered at a recognized university
  • Must not have failed any subjects/modules in the current year of study
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Not currently receiving any other bursary funding or financial assistance from another institution
  • Preference given to previously disadvantaged students

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

  • Download and complete the SANRAL Bursary Application Form.
  • Submit clear copies of the required supporting documents, including ID document, Matric certificate, latest academic record, proof of registration at a tertiary institution, curriculum vitae, motivational letter, parents/guardians ID documents, and proof of income.
  • Send the application via post to the designated address.

CLOSING DATE

The closing date for applications is 30 September. Applications open on 1 June . It is important to submit the application before the closing date to be considered.
