ABOUT THE SCATEC BURSARY – FIELDS COVERED
Scatec is offering bursaries for postgraduate degree studies (Honours, Masters, or PhD) in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
ABOUT THE SCATEC BURSARY – EXPENSES COVERED, OTHER BENEFITS & SELECTION
The bursary will cover registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, meal allowance, as well as a once-off allowance for a computer and calculator. However, it will not cover repeat modules. Recipients of the bursary will also have access to work opportunities, development opportunities, and psychosocial support such as student discussions, workshops, and an employee assistance program (EAP). After graduation, there may be a work-back obligation depending on the company’s needs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCATEC BURSARY
To be eligible for the Scatec bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree
- Full-time study or intention to study towards a postgraduate degree in one of the specified fields in 2023
- Enrollment or intention to enroll at a university recognized or accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged designated groups within South Africa.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SCATEC BURSARY
Applications must be submitted online through the Scatec Bursary Application . Required supporting documents include a certified copy of the ID document or smart card, certified copy of the Matric certificate, certified copy of the full tertiary academic record, proof of university registration or acceptance on the institution’s letterhead, and a Curriculum Vitae in PDF or MS Word format.
CLOSING DATE FOR THE SCATEC BURSARY
The closing date for applications is 31 December at 17:00. It is important to submit the application before the closing date to be considered.
