Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) Bursary

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – TETA

The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is one of South Africa’s 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). It is responsible for promoting skills development and training within various economic sectors, with a specific focus on the Transport Sector. TETA’s operational areas include maritime, road freight, freight handling, rail, taxi, aerospace, road passenger, forwarding and clearing transport industry sub-sectors.

ABOUT THE TETA BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

TETA is offering the Unemployed Bursary for the 2023 academic year. The bursaries are awarded for studies in various fields related to the Transport sector. The eligible fields include Aeronautical Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Commercial Diving, Commercial Pilot License, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Financial Management, Health and Safety Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Law, Logistics Management, Marine Engineering, Maritime Law, Maritime/Nautical Studies, Master’s Degree in Transport-related themes, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering: Maritime, Operations Management, Risk Management, Road Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Transport Economics, and Transportation Management.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TETA BURSARY

To be eligible for the TETA bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Between 18 and 35 years old
  • Currently unemployed
  • Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study towards a qualification in one of the specified fields
  • Registered or intending to register at a public tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology, TVET College, Accredited Flying School, or Accredited Diving School)
  • Minimum overall average of 50% in the 2021 academic year
  • Specific requirements apply to certain fields such as pilot training, commercial diving, and commercial pilot licenses.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TETA BURSARY

Applications for the TETA bursary must be submitted online through the TETA Bursary Application portal. Applicants are required to create an account and complete the application form.
