REMARKS

a.Admission requirement(s):

A Baccalaureus Technologiae: Food and Beverage Management or a qualification at NQF Level 7 (old) or NQF Level 8 (new) in the food and beverage field. A candidate must have passed Research Methodology at NQF Level 7 before registration or must pass Research Methodology in the first year of study if it was not included in a previous qualification.

b.Selection criteria:

Selection is based on a personal interview with the departmental selection panel. Registration prior to the approval of a protocol is provisional and will be made official only if the protocol is approved by the Faculty Committee for Postgraduate Studies. These procedures will be fully explained to prospective students during their personal interviews.

c.Duration:

A minimum of one year and a maximum of three years. Students must re-register each year for this qualification.

d.Presentation:

Research.

e.Intake for the qualification:January and July.

f.Structure:

This qualification consists of a research project that has to be recorded in the form of a dissertation. Before the dissertation is accepted for examination, an article, based on the research and approved by the supervisor, should have been submitted to a peer-evaluatedaccredited journal and accepted. A draft version of the article, with acknowledgement of receipt by the journal, should be submitted with the dissertation.
