Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Central Applications Office
Overview: The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy is a comprehensive program aimed at training students in the field of occupational therapy. It spans over eight semesters of full-time study, comprising a total of 520 credit points.
Admission Requirements:
NSC Degree Pass including:
English
Life Orientation (Level 4)
Mathematics (Level 3)
Life Sciences or Physical Science (Level 3)
Minimum of 30 Points (excluding Life Orientation)
Curriculum Structure: The curriculum includes compulsory modules spanning across four levels, each with specific credit allocations.

Anatomy (Trunk & Embryology, Head, Neck & Back, Upper & Lower Limbs)
Fundamentals and Therapeutic Media in Occupational Therapy
Introduction to Psychology
Community Studies
IsiZulu Language Modules
Level 2 Modules:
Homeostasis
Health and Illness Behaviour
Occupational Therapy Fundamentals, Physical and Psychosocial Theory and Fieldwork
Integration & Communication
Level 3 Modules:

Statutory Body Requirements (HPCSA):
Completion of 1000 hours of clinical work is mandatory for graduation.
Attendance:
Mandatory attendance in all practical and clinical modules.
Progression Requirements:
Students must meet minimum progression requirements to avoid academic warnings or exclusion. This includes achieving a certain number of credits per registered semester.
Registration:
Online self-help registration available from 8 January to 2 March, accessible both on and off-campus.
On-campus registration during the main period (29 January to 2 February) requires checking the allocated registration time.
Payments:
Large cash payments are not accepted (maximum R500 at cashiers).
Online payments, bank payments, and credit/debit card payments are recommended.
Proof of payment should be emailed for clearance.
Student Cards and Parking Permits:
Student cards are activated overnight post-registration.
Parking permits can be applied for online.
Important Dates:
Semester lectures commence on 5 February.
Final date for registration and fee payment is 2 March.
