1. Points Score Calculation:
This is central to the selection process.
The score is calculated based on your final Grade 12 marks and factors like the school you attended, your gender, socio-economic background, race, etc.
2. Admission Requirements:
Check statutory and college-specific admission requirements.
Ensure you meet the required Academic Points Score (APS) for your chosen qualification(s).
The minimum APS varies across colleges and qualifications.
3. Application Limitations:
You can apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked by preference.
However, if successful, you can only register for one.
4. Outcome Notification:
Unisa will inform you about the outcome of your application.
If successful, you’ll be told which qualification you have been accepted for.
5. Offer Acceptance:
You need to accept or decline Unisa’s offer within a specified period.
Failure to respond in time will result in the offer being withdrawn.
First-time applicants must complete the First-Year Experience MOOC to accept the offer.
Accepting an offer for one qualification will automatically void the other.
6. Registration:
You must register for the period you have been granted admission.
Failure to register will require re-application in the next admission cycle.
Who Needs to Apply?
New applicants or current Unisa students changing qualifications/specializations.
Those completing a higher certificate and wishing to continue with further undergraduate studies.
Applicants who were previously offered a space but did not accept or register.
Those enrolling at a TVET college under the Unisa-TVET agreement.
It’s important to understand each step of this process and adhere to the requirements and deadlines to ensure a smooth application experience.
