What the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary Programme Offers

The Bergrivier Municipality is proudly announcing their bursary programme for the 2023 academic year. This initiative is especially designed for students residing within the Bergrivier Municipal Area and covers a wide array of fields, including but not limited to:

  • Accounting
  • Civil Engineering
  • Economics
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Financial Management
  • Infrastructure
  • Internal Audit
  • Municipal Finance
  • Risk Management
  • Supply Chain Management

This programme will provide cover for both registration and tuition fees. Additionally, the funds will be directly paid to the institution where the beneficiary is studying, thus ensuring a smooth financial process. Please note that selected candidates will be required to sign a bursary agreement with the Bergrivier Municipality.

Are You Eligible for the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary?

To qualify for this programme, applicants need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Permanently reside within the Bergrivier Municipal area
  • Have completed Matric
  • Be studying or intend to study full time, towards a degree or diploma within one of the aforementioned fields at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Have passed the previous year’s studies, if currently studying
  • Not be in receipt of any other bursary funding
  • Special preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged groups and/or students with disabilities

How to Apply?

Applications for the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary programme can be made by downloading and completing the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary Application Form or collecting the forms from the Human Resource Services Department in Piketberg.

Ensure to submit clear copies of the required documents along with your application form. The applications must be hand delivered to any of the mentioned municipal offices, marked “Application for Bursary Opportunity”, for the attention of Mr. D Boumeester.

The application deadline is 12:00, 10th February. Unfortunately, applications received via email or fax will not be accepted.
