About the Cederberg Municipality:

The Cederberg Local Municipality governs an area in the Western Cape province of South Africa, extending from the Cederberg mountains through the Olifants River to the Atlantic coast. This region is known for its picturesque mountains in Clanwilliam and Citrusdal, stunning beaches in Lamberts Bay and Elands Bay, and historic villages in Wupperthal and Elandskloof. The Cederberg area is also part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, boasting exceptional botanical diversity, and it is the only place where the world-famous rooibos tea is grown and cultivated.

About the Cederberg Municipality Bursary Program:

The Cederberg Municipality is offering bursary funding for the 2024-2025 academic year to students residing within the Cederberg Municipal area. The bursaries are available for studies in the financial field, either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Coverage and Selection:

The bursary covers the full cost of university tuition fees and textbooks. It is awarded for one year of study, and students need to reapply for funding each year. After completing their studies, bursary recipients are required to undertake a one-year internship within the Cederberg Municipality.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 30 days of the closing date (by no later than 28 February 2024-2025). If you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Cederberg Municipality Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Reside within the Cederberg Municipal area.
  • Have completed Matric.
  • Be studying or intending to study full-time toward a qualification in the financial field (undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma).
  • Be registered or accepted to study at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
  • Meet the entry requirements of the academic institution.

How to Apply:

Applicants should download and complete the Cederberg Municipality Bursary Application Form for 2024-2025. Clear copies of supporting documents, such as ID documents, matric results, proof of application or provisional acceptance from a tertiary institution, academic records, proof of registration, curriculum vitae, parents or guardians’ ID documents, and proof of income, should be submitted with the completed application form. All documents must be certified copies.

Applications must be submitted to the municipal office at 2A Voortrekker Street, Clanwilliam, 8130. The envelope should be marked “Application for financial bursary: Cederberg Municipality.”

All applicants will receive written acknowledgment of their application, but no supporting documents will be returned.
