Old Mutual Accounting Bursary:
To contribute to the growth and development of the country, Old Mutual is inviting young financial students and those passionate about pursuing a career in Chartered Accounting to apply for the Old Mutual Accounting Bursary.
The bursary provides coverage for various expenses, including:
- Residence fees
- Tuition fees
- Books, study materials, meals, and a general allowance
- Exposure to different areas of finance as outlined by SAICA
- Mentorship and support from qualified experts throughout your degree
- Vacation work for practical experience
- Additional incentives for students with excellent grades
The bursary covers tuition costs at several universities, including the University of Cape Town, University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, University of Stellenbosch, and more. It also offers one annual return flight home for students away from their hometowns.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants for the Old Mutual Accounting Bursary must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Passed Matric with a minimum of 70% or Level 6 in all subjects, especially English and Maths (not Maths Literacy)
- Studying or intending to study at one of the listed universities
- Willingness to commit to Old Mutual’s CA Training Programme and subsequent employment with Old Mutual
- Age under 21 years
- No post-matric qualification
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Initiative, leadership qualities, creativity, and integrity
Application Process:
To apply for the Old Mutual Accounting Bursary, follow these steps:
- Download and complete the Old Mutual Bursary Motivation Form.
- Complete the Old Mutual Accounting Science Bursary Online Application 2025-2026 (Reference: JR-38156), including a gamified assessment.
- Submit clear copies of supporting documentation, including CV, school results, Matric certificate (if applicable), acceptance proof at the university (if applicable), ID copy, photo, NBT statement (if applicable), and full academic transcript (for current university students).
Selection Process:
- Selected applicants will be invited to complete psychometric assessments.
- Final candidates will be invited to a selection day for interviews.
- If successful, a provisional offer will be confirmed upon submission of the final Matric result and proof of university acceptance for the Accounting Science program.
