About the FASSET Bursary Provider:
The Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) is dedicated to enhancing the number of employees entering the finance and accountancy sector. Their mission includes promoting transformation within the sector, expanding the skillset required, and ensuring that employees within the sector receive the necessary training and education.
Established in 2000, FASSET focuses on Accounting, Financial, Consulting, Management, and other Financial Services within South Africa.
About the FASSET Bursary Program:
FASSET is inviting students to apply for their bursary program for the 2025-2026 academic year. The bursaries will cover studies in various fields, including Actuarial Sciences, Accounting and Commercial-related qualifications, IT-related qualifications, and Business-related streams at TVET institutions.
Expenses Covered by the FASSET Bursary:
The bursary covers the following expenses:
- Tuition fees
- Textbooks
- Accommodation
- Meal allowance
Eligibility Requirements for the FASSET Bursary:
To be eligible for the FASSET Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Completion of Matric
- Entering the first year of study in 2025-2026
- Registered to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields in 2025-2026
- Registered or accepted to study at a public University, University of Technology, or TVET College in South Africa
- Strong academic record
- Total household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum
- Currently unemployed
How to Apply for the FASSET Bursary:
Applications must be submitted online through the FASSET Bursary Application 2025-2026. When asked how you heard about the FASSET bursary, enter “Uni24.co.za.”
Include clear copies of the following supporting documents with your application:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Proof of registration and acceptance at an approved tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead)
- Parents or guardians’ ID documents (certified copies)
- Parents or guardians’ proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or grant if applicable)
- Certificates of any completed qualifications, if applicable (certified copy)
- Proof of residence
Closing Date for the FASSET Bursary:
The closing date for applications is 28 February. Ensure that you apply before this date to have your application considered.
