About Amandla Omoya Trust:
The Amandla Omoya Trust was established in 2012 with the primary goal of engaging in public welfare activities and strengthening communities to face and recover from challenging situations. It focuses on improving social cohesion within communities and provides financial support and resources to organizations working towards the social welfare of communities residing within a 50 km radius of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm.
As a community trust, Amandla Omoya Trust holds a significant ownership stake in Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm and actively identifies social inequalities within disadvantaged communities. It works to enhance the quality of life for residents by funding programs dedicated to addressing these issues.
Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary 2025-2026:
The Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary is open to students pursuing studies in any field. The bursary amount may vary depending on individual circumstances. It is available to students enrolled in degree programs, national diploma programs, or Level 4 Technical and Vocational Education programs under the National Quality Framework (NQF) who reside in the vicinity of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm. The bursary program primarily targets young people.
The bursary covers various expenses, including:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Examination fees
- Textbooks or study materials
- Stationery expenses
- Meal expenses
- Accommodation charges at a tertiary or similar residence
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Amandla Omoya Trust Bursary 2025-2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship.
- Residing within a 50 km radius of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm, including Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Patensie, Hankey, Weston, Loerie, and Thornhill.
- Aged 35 years or younger.
- Admission to and acceptance by any recognized tertiary education or training institution, whether private or public.
- Pursuing studies in any field to obtain a degree, national diploma, or technical or vocational education program at National Quality Framework (NQF) Level 4.
- Completion of NSC (Matric) or NTC (National Trade Certificate).
- Strong academic performance.
- Demonstrated financial need with supporting documents.
