About the Black Management Forum (BMF):
The Black Management Forum (BMF) is a non-racial, non-partisan, and non-sexist organization founded in 1976. It is dedicated to promoting managerial leadership development and creating managerial structures that reflect the demographics and values of South Africa.
BMF Bursary Program:
The Black Management Forum (BMF) offers bursaries for the 2024-2025 academic year. These bursaries are available for students pursuing studies in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), as well as various other fields, including Agriculture, Arts, Entrepreneurship, Law, Medical Studies, and more.
Eligibility Criteria for the BMF Bursary:
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible for the BMF Bursary:
- Must be currently in Matric in .
- Must intend to study in one of the specified fields in 2024-2025.
- Must have been accepted to study at a recognized tertiary institution in 2024-2025.
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in Matric, excluding Life Orientation and a second language.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must reside in specific areas within the following provinces: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Northern Cape, or Western Cape.
How to Apply for the BMF Bursary:
To apply for the BMF Bursary, eligible students must submit clear copies of the following required documentation:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric latest results (certified copy)
- Proof of university acceptance (on the institution’s letterhead)
- Proof of residence
- Parents or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips or employment letter if employed, affidavit if unemployed, affidavit if self-employed, 3 months’ latest bank statements, or a signed and stamped letter from the Department of Social Services if on pension, child support, or orphan grant)

Closing Date for the BMF Bursary:
The closing date for BMF Bursary applications for the 2024-2025 academic year is 13 October. Applicants are advised to submit their applications before the closing date to ensure consideration.
