Bursary Programme Details
DRDGOLD, through its subsidiaries Ergo Mining Proprietary Limited and Far West Gold Recoveries Proprietary Limited, offers bursaries to Gauteng residents pursuing undergraduate studies in the following fields:
- Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Information Technology (IT)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Safety Management
Successful applicants must complete vacation work at DRDGOLD operations during tertiary breaks. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 4 weeks post the application deadline.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Reside in Gauteng, with a preference for those from the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, and Merafong.
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the specified fields of study.
- Be entering their 1st or 2nd year of undergraduate studies in 2021.
- Attend a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance.
Application Process
Eligible students can apply by emailing the following documents to the Human Resources Department at employment.confirmation@drdgold.com with “ref: BUR021” as the subject:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Proof of Gauteng residence
- Short Curriculum Vitae
- Certified copy of Matric latest results or Grade 11 final results and a provisional letter of acceptance from a tertiary institution (for 1st-year students)
- Full 2020 tertiary academic record (for 2nd-year students)
No specific application form is required.
