Flywire Charitable Foundation’s Academic Scholarships 2024-2025
The Flywire Charitable Foundation is offering scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year to support students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in any field, in any country. There are eight scholarships available, each valued at USD 5000, focusing on the following themes:
- Social Justice: Addressing issues such as LGBTQ+ rights, racism, misogyny, religious persecution, violence, and systemic bias. This scholarship aims to prepare future leaders who are committed to building a society free from intolerance and inequality.
- Global Citizenship: Considering challenges like climate change, income disparity, and sustainability, this scholarship supports individuals who embody the principles of global citizenship and strive to make a positive impact on various societal sectors.
- Global Health: With a focus on improving global health and addressing health disparities exacerbated by the pandemic, this scholarship is for candidates passionate about enhancing the well-being of people worldwide.
- Environmental Sustainability: This scholarship is designed for candidates dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and addressing challenges related to climate change and environmental degradation.
Selection Criteria:
The Flywire Charitable Foundation’s selection process is based on the following criteria:
- Adherence to the prompt: Does the candidate meet all requirements and respond clearly to the questions?
- Persistence: Does the candidate demonstrate determination and resilience in the face of challenges?
- Leadership: Does the candidate outline their academic and personal goals and explain how their chosen education path aligns with them?
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Have completed matriculation
- Be pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies
- Apply for only one of the scholarship themes mentioned above
- Not be related to current or former Flywire employees or associated with firms doing business with Flywire
Application Process:
Candidates must apply online by registering on the application portal. The application form can be accessed [here](link to application). Applicants should specify the scholarship theme they are applying for.
Required Documents:
Applicants must submit an essay along with their application. The essay should cover:
- Personal background, field of study, and university enrollment
- Challenges faced in pursuing education
- Goals and aspirations related to education and the chosen scholarship
- The essay must be written in English, in ODF format, and meet specific formatting requirements (1 typed page, 12-point font, 1-inch margin).
Closing Dates:
The application deadline for the Flywire Charitable Foundation’s Academic Scholarships 2024-2025 is 2 June 2024-2025 at 11:59 pm EST (or June 18, 2022, 3:59 pm GMT). Applications must be submitted before the deadline to be considered.
Winners will be notified via email by July 21. Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the recipients’ institutions.
