Fostering Regional Talent: MBAWC Bursary 2024-2025
The Master Builders Association Western Cape (MBAWC) extends a helping hand to deserving students through the MBAWC Bursary 2024-2025. This program aims to empower meritorious individuals in the Western Cape to pursue their education and become qualified professionals who contribute to the region’s growth. The bursaries are open to students pursuing either a University Degree or National Diploma.
For the 2024-2025 academic session, the following fields of study are eligible for bursaries for University Degree seekers:
- Civil Engineering (BSc)
- Construction Studies (BSc) (UCT)
- Construction Management (BSc Hons) (UCT)
- Quantity Surveying (BSc Hons) (UCT)
- Project Management (MSc)
- Masters studies
For National Diploma aspirants, the following fields are covered:
- Construction (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Extended)
- Construction Health & Safety (Advanced Diploma)
- Quantity Surveying
- Master of Construction
Initially awarded for one academic session, successful bursars may reapply based on academic performance and availability.
Paving the Way: Bursary Coverage
The bursary covers tuition fees, with the value determined by the institution’s fees. However, it does not cover other expenses such as meals, textbooks, or accommodation.
Path to Qualification: Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the MBAWC Bursary, candidates must meet these eligibility criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Completion of Matriculation within the MBA Western Cape jurisdiction
- Enrolled or intending to enroll in the specified qualifications
- Studying at an accredited tertiary institution within the Western Cape province
- Household income within NSFAS specifications
- Not receiving funds from other bursary funds or SETA/CETA
Preference is given to applicants who are employees of MBAWC member companies or their family members. Priority is also extended to those employed at a member company for at least 24 consecutive months, eligible for the BIBC benefit system.

- Download and complete the MBAWC Bursary Application Form 2024-2025, ensuring all sections are completed accurately.
- Gather the necessary documents.
- Email the completed application form and documents to letitia@mbawc.org.za or hand-deliver to the MBAWC Office or post to the MBA Development Trust.

- Photograph of yourself attached to the application form
- ID documents
- Latest academic results
- Proof of acceptance at the tertiary institution
- Motivational letter supporting your application
- Affidavit confirming your household income meets NSFAS specifications
