About the Bursary Provider – RTIA:
The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) is an independent adjudicator of traffic fines and infringements issued under the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act. The RTIA’s mission is to encourage the levying of penalties, impose demerit points, ensure compliance with South African road traffic laws through education and communication programs, reward compliant road users, encourage fair administrative adjudication, and promote the effective suspension and cancellation of operator cards and driving licenses.
About the RTIA Bursary Program:
The Road Traffic Infringement Agency offers bursaries in the following fields:
- Road Traffic Management (Degree/National Diploma)
- BCom Finance
- LLB
Upon graduating, bursary recipients are required to complete counter-service within the RTIA. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and if you do not receive feedback, consider your application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for the RTIA bursary, applicants must meet these minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Completed Matric
- Enrolled or planning to study full-time in one of the listed fields
- Registered at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution
- Not receiving any other bursary funding
- Currently unemployed
How to Apply for the RTIA Bursary:
Follow these steps to apply for the RTIA bursary:
- Download and complete the RTIA Bursary Application Form (.pdf).
- Submit clear copies of the required supporting documentation along with your completed application form. Ensure you have all necessary documents, as missing items may result in disqualification. The required documents include:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Certified copies of qualification certificates for any diplomas/degrees completed
- Certified copy of your latest academic record
- Proof of tertiary registration/admission letter
- Explanation of your current status if not currently studying/enrolled
- Certified copies of parents/guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips if employed/affidavit if unemployed)
- Motivational letter
- Submit your application using one of the following methods:
