About the Signa Group:
The Signa Group is a Level 2 B-BBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) company with a significant majority black ownership and a minority black female ownership. About the Signa Bursary Program:
The Signa Trust is offering an ICT Study Bursary to female students interested in pursuing a 3-year Information & Communications Technology (ICT) degree qualification for the 2025-2026 academic year. This bursary aims to empower and encourage young women to pursue careers in the ICT field.
Bursary Coverage: The ICT Study Bursary provided by the Signa Trust will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition fees for a 3-year ICT Degree program
- Prescribed books
- A personal computer (PC)
- Accommodation
- A monthly stipend
Selection Process: The bursary recipient will be selected by the Signa Trust board of trustees and will be contacted via telephone.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the Signa Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship or legal residency
- Female gender
- Age between 18 and 35 years old
- Completion of Matric with good results (above average)
- Disadvantaged background
- Interest in pursuing an Information & Communications Technology (ICT) degree qualification
- No association with the Signa Group or Signa Trust in any capacity (including director, member, partner, employee, acquaintance, agent, consultant, etc.)
How to Apply: Applicants can submit their applications online through the Signa Bursary Application for 2025-2026. In addition to the online application, candidates will need to provide a motivational letter that explains why they should be chosen to receive the bursary and outlines their future plans and aspirations.
Supporting Documentation: Successful candidates will be required to submit the following supporting documents. Ensure that you have these documents ready, as their submission will be compulsory. Failure to provide these documents may result in the cancellation of the bursary:
- ID document or both sides of ID card (certified copy)
- Passport and proof of residency (if not a citizen, certified copy)
- Matric Certificate (certified copy)
- Most recent academic record or results from 2020 studies (certified copy)
- Proof of total household income for parents/guardians (latest payslips or affidavit if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or Sassa grants if applicable)
- Proof of disability (if applicable)
Closing Date: The closing date for Signa Bursary applications is 31 August, at 23:59. Be sure to apply before this deadline to ensure your application is considered.
