TUT Accredited Accommodation

There is not enough University accommodation to meet the demand for student housing. To provide for the need in student accommodation TUT has started to accredited accommodation private student accommodation.
In short this means that the University identifies buildings that are suitable for student accommodation and donor/sponsor funding (specifically NSFAS) may be utilised to contribute towards the rental payment of accredited accommodation.
Currently the University not yet accredited sufficient accommodation to meet the student demand on each campus, but the number of accredited spaces on each campus will steadily increase.
Private student accommodation providers
Private student accommodation providers who are interested in making their properties available for student rental should follow the accreditation application process.
TUT has strict criteria for accrediting buildings. All the requirements for accrediting a building are provided in the Application form for the Accreditation of Private Student Accommodation.
Student applications for accredited student accommodation
Students do not apply directly for accredited student accommodation. All students requiring accommodation should apply for residence accommodation according to the residence placement policy. Students who are not admitted to residences will be considered for accredited accommodation.
Residence administration will refer students for accredited accommodation after all residence spaces have been filled.
