UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours Bursary Application Guide
Application Period

Application Submission
- Only online applications submitted via the myUnisa link app will be considered.
- No hard copies, emails, hand-delivered, late, or incomplete applications will be considered.
Registration Requirement
- Students must be temporarily registered by 31 January for registration to be activated upon successful bursary application.
Re-application Requirement
- Returning bursary beneficiaries must re-apply for the bursary for each academic year registered for the same previously funded qualification, subject to bursary guidelines, terms, and conditions.
About the Bursary
The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours Bursary aims to assist South African UNISA alumni students with their UNISA tuition fees, enabling them to register and complete their qualifications. Financial support is provided subject to eligibility, academic performance, and availability of funds.
Eligibility Criteria
For Returning Beneficiaries:
- Must be South African citizens.
- Must be previously funded by UNISA PG Bursary.
- Must have passed previously funded/registered modules with an average of 50%.
For New Applicants:
- Must be South African citizens.
- Must have completed an NQF level 7 undergraduate qualification by 31 January with an average of 60%.
- Must be registered or intend to register for a PG Diploma/Honours at UNISA.
- Must be in the second year of study for the same qualification, having passed at least three modules with an average of 60%.
Ineligible Applicants:
- UNISA permanent staff members.
- Students registered for certain postgraduate diplomas in Business, Project Management, and Supply Chain Management.
- Students registered for special study programs, including certificates and non-degree purpose programs.
- Students who already hold a postgraduate degree at the same or higher NQF level.
Bursary Coverage
- Covers tuition fees only.
- Does not cover laptops, accommodation, textbooks, additional study materials, failed/repeating modules, or historic debt.
- Funds for two consecutive years, subject to second-year approved re-application.
