Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury Bursary 2025-2026
The Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury has opened its bursary application process for the 2025-2026 academic year. The bursary program is available for undergraduate students residing in the Eastern Cape who are pursuing studies in specific fields of study, including Economics, Cost and Management Accounting, Financial Information Systems, Financial Accounting, Internal Auditing, and Information Technology.
The goal of the bursary program is to identify strategic development and training needs that enhance core business skills and improve service delivery in the department. The program focuses on disciplines such as Accounting, Research and Analysis, Financial Information Systems, Economic Policy, and Financial Management to achieve this objective.
Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the bursary, candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must reside in the Eastern Cape province area.
- Must have completed Matric (NSC) and been accepted into a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree program.
- Matric results should meet specified minimum requirements in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Economics, and Accounting.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or national diploma program with a minimum of 360 credits at NQF level 6 or 7 in the specified study fields.
- Must be a full-time student at a public tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Demonstrated financial need with a total annual household income of no more than R378,765.
- Priority given to applicants with disabilities who have not received previous awards from the department.

- Certified copy of ID document.
- Certified copy of Matric certificate and final results.
- Certified copy of admission letter for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Proof of income of parents or guardians (certified copy).
- Death certificate of parents (if applicable) and affidavit for proof.
- Documents for residential proof.
- Proof of disability (if applicable), with details of the disability in the application letter.
