Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the bursary:
- South African citizenship
- Age under 35
- Residency within specific communities of Emakhazeni and City of Mbombela Local Municipalities
- Matriculation certificate
- Enrollment in a full-time degree or diploma course at a tertiary institution in 2025-2026
- Average score of at least 60%
- No other bursary source, including NSFAS
- No student debt of 3 years or longer
