The Association of Commonwealth Universities is offering the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship (QECS) for the year 2025-2026. This scholarship provides an opportunity for graduates to pursue a Master’s degree in middle or low-income Commonwealth countries. The scholarship aims to empower individuals to make a positive impact in their communities, broaden their horizons, experience new cultures, and establish global connections.

Scholarship Benefits:

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • Tuition fees
  • Stipend for living expenses
  • Return airfare (economy class)
  • Research grant (if applicable)
  • Arrival allowance

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold citizenship in a Commonwealth country.
  • Apply for the scholarship in a country other than their own.
  • Apply to a middle or low-income Commonwealth country.
  • Have completed their undergraduate degree before applying.
  • Have not commenced their chosen course before applying.
  • Apply for a Master’s level degree program lasting no more than two years.
  • Meet the English language requirements of the chosen university.

Application Process:

Candidates need to register an account on MyACU before applying for the scholarship. Registration can be done here.

After registration, candidates can access the application form and complete it. The application form can be accessed here.

Required Documents:

Applicants must upload the following documents along with the application form:

  • Certified copies of ID documents
  • Certified copies of academic records and transcripts
  • Degree certificate of graduation
  • English language test certificate (if required)
  • Record of employment
  • Details of application to the university
  • Two academic references (or professional references if academic references are not available)

Statements Required:

Candidates must also provide three statements addressing the following:

Statement 1: Plan of Study

  • Reasons for choosing the course and institution
  • Relevance of the course to future goals
  • Qualities from previous qualifications and experiences that make the candidate suitable for the course

Statement 2: Development Impact and Post-Study Outreach

  • Identify a problem in the candidate’s country and plans to address it
  • Role of the chosen course in solving the problem
  • Benefits expected from the course in terms of skills and contribution to the community

Statement 3: Creating Networks

  • Description of professional networks formed through studies, work, volunteering, etc.
  • Use and achievements of these networks
  • How the chosen course will further these connections

Closing Date:

The application deadline for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship 2025-2026 is May 24, at 15:00 (UTC). Late submissions will not be accepted.
