ABOUT THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY
The Theewaterskloof Municipality is a local municipality located within the Overberg District Municipality, situated in the Western Cape province of South Africa. This Category B Municipality is known for hosting the Theewaterskloof Dam, a significant water source supplying Cape Town and the surrounding areas. THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY BURSARY PROGRAMME
The Theewaterskloof Municipality invites students residing within the Theewaterskloof Municipal area to apply for their bursary programme for the 2022 academic year. The bursaries are intended for studies in the following fields, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:
- Artisan trades (e.g., Bricklaying, Carpentry, Electrical, Motor Mechanic, Plastering, Plumbing).
- Engineering fields (e.g., Civil Engineering, Electricity, Water, Sanitation, etc.).
- Financial Management disciplines (e.g., Accounting, Economics, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Supply Chain Management).
- Town Planning and Building.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY BURSARY
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be eligible for the Theewaterskloof Municipality Bursary:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Reside within the Theewaterskloof Municipality area.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intending to study toward an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in one of the specified fields in 2025-2026
- Be registered at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Have a total household income not exceeding R10,000 per month.
- Applicants with disabilities and those from designated employment equity groups are encouraged to apply.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY BURSARY
To apply for the Theewaterskloof Municipality Bursary, follow these steps:
- Prepare the necessary documentation:
- Covering letter.
- ID document (certified copy).
- Matric certificate (certified copy).
- Full academic record, including the most recent results if currently studying at a tertiary level (certified copy).
- Proof of registration at a tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
- Parents or guardians’ ID documents (certified copies).
- Parents or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grant or pension if applicable).
- Proof of residence.
- Proof of disability, if applicable (doctor’s note).
- There is no specific application form to complete; students need to submit the list of documents mentioned above to apply.
