The Institute for Open Distance Learning (IODL) is a research institute mandated to position Unisa as leading ODL institution through advancing ODL and e-learning scholarship on the African continent and the world. To ensure that the university addresses its mission of delivering quality education, IODL serve a university-wide need of ODeL research through collaboration with colleges, directorates, support departments, research institutes and centres. In addition, IODL is expected to play an active role in open distance and elearning related activities institutionally, nationally, continentally and internationally.
