Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary 2025-2026:

Afrimat, Nkomati Anthracite, in Mpumalanga, is inviting applications from students for its bursary program for the academic year 2025-2026. This bursary opportunity is available for students who plan to study in the following fields:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Afrimat gives preference to candidates from Matsamo, Mawewe, and Lugedlane communities. Shortlisted applicants for the selection process must submit stamped proof of residence from their respective Tribal Office.

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for the Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be registered to study at an accredited and recognized South African university or TVET college.
  • Provide proof of registration for the current academic year.
  • Only Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDIs) are eligible.
  • Must submit an academic record with at least a 60% average.
  • Candidates must meet medical fitness standards according to the company’s standards and the Mine Health and Safety Act.
  • Female candidates will receive preference.
