About Indwe Risk Services:

Indwe Risk Services (Pty) Ltd, founded in 2006, is a leading company in the insurance advisory, personal, specialist, and business risk sectors. It resulted from the merger of two companies, Thebe Risk Services and Prestasi Brokers. The name “Indwe” is derived from isiZulu and isiXhosa, representing the Blue Crane, South Africa’s national bird. The company values its strong heritage and upholds core values such as Nurturing, Willingness, Innovation, Drive, and Eagerness.

About the Indwe Risk Services Bursary Program:

Indwe Risk Services will be awarding 10 partial bursaries to students currently in their second or third year of study pursuing a Commerce degree at approved universities. The bursary aims to assist students in covering their registration and tuition fees, up to the value of R30,000. The bursaries may be renewed annually based on the discretion of Indwe Risk Services and the academic performance of the students.

Additional Information on the Bursary:

Upon completing their studies, bursary recipients will be required to fulfill a service level obligation, involving six months of paid service for each year of funding received.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the Indwe Risk Services Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship.
  • Completion of Matric.
  • Currently studying toward a Commerce degree qualification (second or third year).
  • Minimum overall average of 60% in the previous semester.
  • Enrolled at one of the specified universities (a list is provided).
  • Fluency in English and at least one other South African language.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Good communication skills.

How to Apply:

To apply for the Indwe Risk Services Bursary:

  1. Download and complete the Indwe Risk Services Bursary Application Form (.pdf).
  2. Submit clear copies of the required supporting documents along with your completed application form. Ensure that you include all necessary documents, as the absence of any items may result in disqualification.

Supporting Documents:

  • ID document (certified copy).
  • Matric certificate (certified copy).
  • Full tertiary academic transcripts (certified copies).
  • Proof of registration at one of the specified universities.
  • Latest student account statement.
  • ID documents of parents or guardians (certified copies).
  • Proof of parents or guardians’ income (latest payslips if employed, sworn affidavits if unemployed, latest financial statements or sworn affidavits if self-employed, proof of SASSA grants if applicable, legal guardians’ payslip if living with a legal guardian while parents are alive).
  • Proof of residence.
  • Motivational essay (a one-page document with further details available on the application form).
