Astron Energy Bursary 2025-2026
Astron Energy is a leading supplier of petroleum products in Southern Africa, with a vast network of over 850 service stations which makes us the second largest fuel retail network in South Africa. A proud Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, we are strongly committed to being a responsible corporate citizen, promoting education and economic development in an effort to build stronger communities and drive sustainable growth.
We own and operate the country’s a crude oil refinery, located in Cape Town, as well as a lubricant manufacturing plant in Durban.
Formerly known as Chevron South Africa, we have operated successfully in South Africa for over 100 years. We were renamed to Astron Energy in 2018 following a change in ownership, since which time we have been operating the Caltex brand under a licence agreement. As part of our bright new future, we are now rebranding our entire network of service stations in South African and Botswana in our vibrant new corporate identity. This rebrand marks a key milestone in Astron Energy’s ambition of becoming the next biggest fuel brand in South Africa.
Astron Energy plays a key role in the South African energy sector as well as in the broader economy. According to a 2019 Economic Impact Assessment, Astron Energy’s contribution to South Africa’s GDP was R48.9 billion (1%) and we supported a total of 72,052 direct and indirect jobs, or 0.5% of the country’s total employment.
