About the Company – Barloworld: Founded in South Africa in 1902, Barloworld Limited is a renowned industrial brand management organization and distributor of leading global brands. The company’s core divisions include Automotive and Logistics and Equipment. The Barloworld Automotive and Barloworld Logistics sector deal with motor retail, used vehicles, fleet management services, integrated car rental, disposal solutions, supply chain optimization, and logistics management. The Barloworld Equipment sector deals with power systems and earthmoving. About the Bursary Program – Fields Covered & Coverage Value: The Barloworld Education Trust established the bursary scheme to assist students in funding their tertiary studies in fields related to Barloworld’s core business, including Engineering, IT, and Sales/Marketing.
Bursaries are awarded in the following fields of study:
- IT/Computer Sciences (BSc)
- Industrial Engineering (BEng/BSc)
- Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc)
- Mining Engineering (BEng/BSc)
- Marketing
- Sales
The bursary covers expenses such as registration fees, examination fees, tuition, and prescribed textbooks. In certain circumstances, accommodation costs may also be covered.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for this bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Black student (Coloured, Indian, Chinese, or African)
- Completed Matric
- Full-time study in one of the specified fields
- Enrollment at a recognized University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Passing all mid-year exams in the current year of study
- Coming from a previously disadvantaged background
