About RCL Foods:

RCL Foods, formerly known as Rainbow Chicken Ltd, was founded in 1960. Today, it is a consumer goods and milling company majority-owned by Remgro, a South African investment firm. RCL Foods is a leading food producer not only in South Africa but also in countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Zambia, and Uganda. The company manufactures a wide portfolio of well-known private label and branded food brands, including non-perishable food items, poultry, and pet foods.

In 2015, RCL Foods restructured its operations from four prior subsidiaries (Rainbow, Foodcorp, Vector, and TSB) into three business divisions. These divisions include the Consumer Division (comprising Rainbow, Grocery, Pie, Beverage, and Specialty), the Sugar & Milling Division (comprising TSB, Epol, and the Milling and Baking divisions), and the Logistics Division (including Vector Logistics for sales and logistics services).

About the RCL Foods Bursary Program:

RCL Foods is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic students to join its Bursary Scheme. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to take up employment at RCL Foods after completing their studies. Bursaries are awarded in the following fields of study:

  • Accounting
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:

  • South African citizenship
  • Completed Matric
  • Obtained a minimum overall average of 65% in Matric OR currently studying at a tertiary institution with a minimum overall average of 65%
  • Studying or intending to study full-time in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intending to study at a registered Tertiary Institution in South Africa
  • Good academic record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
