About Impala Platinum / Implats
Impala Platinum, also known as Implats, is a leading platinum-producing company with a significant presence in South Africa. The company holds 191.6 million attributable platinum ounces and operates various operations in the country. These include Impala, Zimplats, Marula, Mimosa, and Two Rivers. Impala Refining Services (IRS) was established by Implats to handle toll refining and metal purchases.
Impala Platinum / Implats Bursaries 2024-2025
Implats offers bursaries for students to apply for the upcoming academic year. The bursaries cover registration, tuition, residence fees, cash allowances, and a personal computer allowance starting from the second year of study. Successful bursary recipients are also required to work for the company and complete vacation work at the company at the end of each year.

- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current only)
- Extractive Metallurgy
- Engineering
- Geology (Mining or Exploration)
- Human Resources
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Survey (Mining)

Impala Platinum / Implats Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
Before applying for the bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements (note that not meeting all requirements will result in the application not being considered):
- South African citizenship
- Completed Matric with a University exemption
- Intending to study full-time in one of the listed fields in 2024-2025
- Minimum result of 60% (Level 5) for English, Science, and Mathematics in Matric
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
