About Northam Platinum Limited:
Northam Platinum Limited is an independent integrated platinum group metal (PGM) producer, listed on the JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange) and headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company has two primary mines in South Africa: Zondereinde mine in Limpopo and Booysendal mine in Mpumalanga. Additionally, the company operates metallurgical operations at the Zondereinde mine, which includes a smelter and base metals removal plant.
Booysendal Platinum, a subsidiary of Northam Platinum Limited, is situated near the towns of Mashishing (Lydenburg), Roossenekal, and Steelpoort, bordering two provinces: Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
About the Northam Booysendal Platinum Bursary Program:
Northam Booysendal Platinum Mine is offering bursaries for the 2025-2026 academic year in the fields of:
- Geology
- Metallurgy
- Mine Survey
- Mining Engineering
- Rock Engineering
The bursary recipients will be required to work full-time for the company after graduation, with the employment duration equal to the number of years of funding received.
Eligibility criteria include being in Matric or having completed Matric, passing Mathematics and Science in Matric, and studying or intending to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa. The company may give preference to students already registered at such institutions. Bursaries awarded to current Matric students will be subject to the outcome of final Matric exam results.
Preference will be given to students residing within the local community (Mashishing, Roossenekal, and Steelpoort), but students from other areas are still encouraged to apply.
